Healthcare Grants for Autism

When we first moved to Nashville we were overwhelmed with the new cost of living expenses on top of what it costs us to send Chase to Brown every month ($1985/month).  Although Chase did get a new job, it was, and is, going to take him time to build up his new business to the point where he is making enough money for us to live "comfortably".  We have been blessed that my parents and grandmother are helping us pay for Brown at this time, but I know they won't forever - and I don't want them to.  So I started googling "Grants for Autism".  It took a lot of research and filtering to find ones that applied to us or that I felt like were "worth" applying for.  I will be honest, it is a pain to gather all the information and paperwork that a lot of these grants require, but what does it hurt to TRY, right?!?!

The first grant I found and applied for was through United Healthcare Children's Foundation.

It required our pediatrician to fill out forms, me to gather proof of "tuition and medical bills" etc.  BUT I got a letter of notification that our application was ACCEPTED and that we would receive some of the grant money.  THEN last week I received a check in the mail for $3000!!!!  I actually got a REAL CHECK in the mail!

I got back online that night and found more grants to apply for and this time applied for this one...

We won't know whether or not our application was approved until March, so until them we will wait and see....

Today I received a box in the mail from United Healthcare Children's Foundation and opened it to find a totally unexpected little "happy".  There are good people in this world! :)
